2019 Felt Edict 1 Frame

The Felt Edict 1 is a more affordable but still incredibly successful member of the Edict family. Aiming to evolve the cross-country racing game, the Edict is a full suspension with all-around performance.  As the sport has evolved, possessing the proper mixture of flat out speed and technical ability has become very important. An efficient geometry and innovative shock system give the benefits of a hardtail in a more compliant machine. This combination is the key to faster climbs, better handling, and more confident descents.

This edition of the Edict is lighter and stiffer than previous iterations, giving it an amazing weight to stiffness ratio. This lightweight frame is built using UHC Advanced carbon fiber which lowers the price compared to the Edict FRD but remains world-class. Even as Felt’s second leading carbon construction, the layup of the Edict 1 is still highly competitive with the top bikes of the competitors.

Geometry made to thrive in cross-country racing was used in the construction of the Felt Edict 1. The riding position of this bike enhances your speed while increasing stability and handling. Feedback from world-class riders helped Felt come up with a geometry to produce top race results. On this model, a steeper seat angle puts the rider into a more forward position to increase climbing ability. On the descent, you will benefit from a slack head angle which gives you extra control. Finally, a long top tube gives the rider the option to use a shorter stem for quicker steering on technical parts of the course.

The Felt Edict 1 is a full suspension machine that remains compliant through a fast and technical ride. This bike uses the FAST suspension system which stands for Felt Active Stay Technology. FAST does a great job of protecting your pedaling efficiency by only allowing the necessary parts of your frame to move to dissipate the vibration. The stays on the Edict do not have pivots but are one solid piece which flexes as you ride. Eliminating the need for extra parts saves additional weight. The FAST system keeps your bike at an ideal sag range and allows for extra compliance and stiffness in a much lighter package.

The Felt Edict 1 frame is a great choice for the rider who wants elite performance at a reasonable price. This type of weight to stiffness ratio is rare in a full suspension and you can take full advantage. With superb pedaling efficiency, technical handling, and great climbing, the Edict 1 is a high-level racing bike that will hold its own regardless of where the race takes you. Building an all-around brilliant bike is right around the corner with the Felt Edict 1 frame.
